The Turning Point Process

A Supportive Community for Your Journey

Your Path Through the Program

Orientation:

Your journey begins with a two-week orientation period, where you’ll adjust to your new environment and begin building relationships within our community. During this time, you’ll follow a structured program with limited free time and guided participation in activities.

Phase I:

After orientation, you’ll gain more flexibility, with the removal of visitor and movement restrictions. You’ll be expected to find a sponsor, build outside support, and fully engage in therapy sessions and 12-step meetings, all while integrating relapse prevention practices into your routine.

Phase II:

As you progress, you’ll enjoy more personal flexibility, including doubled free time and family passes. With this increased freedom comes added responsibility, such as maintaining contact with your sponsor, volunteering, and participating in group sessions and relapse prevention. You will also be required to volunteer or reenter the workforce by maintaining a part-time job for 15-20 hours a week.

Phase III:

In the final phase, your life will begin to resemble a more typical daily routine. You’ll have access to your cell phone during daytime hours and significant free time, but with the expectation of continued engagement in therapy, peer support, and mentoring new residents. This phase prepares you for the transition back into independent living, with the confidence and skills to maintain your recovery.

Upon completing the ½ Way House program, continue your recovery journey with support at one of our ¾ Way Houses.

With a total of 20 beds, you can transition to one of our 3/4 way houses that provide a continued supportive environment for your recovery.

We offer several housing options to support women at various stages of their recovery journey. Our ¾ McGuire Houses include:

McGuire Recovery Houses

  • Little McGuire: For single women seeking a stable, supportive living environment.
  • The Apartments: Another option for single women focused on their recovery.
  • Big McGuire: Provides a larger community setting for single women.
  • Julie’s House 2: A dedicated space for women with children, ensuring both mothers and their young ones have a safe place to heal.

In addition, there are many continued educational opportunities available to you for possible career choices. We strive to create a smooth transition into independent living.

Continuing Care Group

Every Monday, we host a Continuing Care Group where residents can discuss their goals, recovery expectations, and any challenges they’re facing. This group is also a space for celebration, with activities, guest speakers, and milestone anniversaries.
